The Stroke Foundation recommends the F.A.S.T. test as an easy way to remember the most common signs of stroke. Using the F.A.S.T. test involves asking these simple questions: Face Check their face. Has their mouth drooped? Arms Can they lift both arms? Speech Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you? Time Is critical. If you see any of these signs call 000 straight away. |

The Commonwealth Government’s Stay Smart Online Alert Service is a free service for Australian internet users who are provided with easy to understand online safety and security information and solutions to help protect their online safety and privacy. The resource also informs users about the latest threats and how to address any risks to their devices or computer networks.
TRAINING
First Aid Accident & Emergency offers a free CPR Community workshop aimed at teaching people the basics on CPR and how to save a life in a compact and interactive 60 minute workshops. The workshop runs on the last Sunday of each month from 9.30am to 10.30am at Varsity Sports House, 337 Christine Avenue, Varsity Lakes.

Transcord kindly provides our insurance cover free. In return, we gratefully provide a bloke for its management committee member and help out where possible. Transcord assists Gold Coast residents who have difficulty getting to medical & other appointments, social activities etc and who are transport disadvantaged. Transcord seeks people interested in volunteering as a driver one or two days a week: cars, wagons or 8-12 seaters, standard licence only required. It’s designed to encourage gay men to talk to their friends about their mental health, to know when one of your friends might be struggling or at risk, and to know how to assist your friends to access resources which can help them in times of need Volunteering GC offers people many opportunities to contribute to their community. It matches volunteers with community organisations in diverse areas including sports, education, arts and culture, events and animal welfare.
